. >> reporter: we all know the economy has been rough. what kind of increasing need have you seen over the last few years? >> we actually expect to see the same number last year which was a record number the reason is it reflects the poverty numbers within our county. last year, it was 10.6%. it's still at 10.6%. there's a lot of people in need out there post-recession so even as the economy gets better that's mostly high-end employment that's changing for high-tech, high education jobs. a number of people in line starting at 11:00 yesterday morning, they are struggling to get full-time jobs with benefits. the first person in line they have really been hurting because of medical issues within their family and can't get the assets together. >> reporter: jay pecot with sacred heart community service. i spoke with a lot of these people in line as well and they are so appreciative of what they are getting. sacred heart runs on donations so wonderful charity. that's what we have life for you at sacred heart before the doors open. anne makovec,
